The LAN Party Summer School Reading List is available!
JULY 1ST, 2026

Hey all,
We hope you're enjoying the summer so far.
We're delighted to let you know that the Further Reading & Resources list for the LAN Party Summer School is now available! This is a compilation of essays, books, texts and sometimes other media that the webinar leaders have shared in order to provide some more context and points of discussion for their sessions.
In order to access it, head to the LAN Party Summer School group*, and then click into the Summer School Resources folder.
*Only accessible to members of the LAN Party Summer School group. You can register for the summer school and gain access here.
You're totally not obliged, but it would be useful to skim some of these texts before each webinar, just to have a decent idea of what topics will be covered before going in. :)
Enjoy! This list is like catnip for me, so I know I will haha.

If you're hearing about the Summer School for the first time, and are wondering wtf we are talking about, well... we're hosting a Summer School!!
From the 10th - 31st of July, we have invited artists and practictioners of video game art to present 1-hour lectures / playthroughs / performances related to their work, or a topic of their interest within the art game ecosystem. The presentation will be followed by 30 minutes of questions and discussion.
Here's what the full programme looks like:
You can register for the Summer School here.
And here are some links to the artists' work:
★ Alice Bucknell ★ Side Quest ★ Chia Amisola ★ Janne Schimmel ★
Full access to the Summer School programme provides links to the four online webinars (via Zoom), the further reading & resources list, and recordings of the webinars for you to revisit later on.
We've also provided a space for you to contribute your own resources via a 'Community Resources' folder, so we hope to collect a pretty solid database of game art knowledge together!
If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask us in the DFOS chat.
See you online,
V & B x
