WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES!
SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2026

As I write this, Benoit is packing up his suitcase. He has a flight in a few hours. In less than 24 hours, I, too, will be on an aeroplane, headed to New York City for the first time in my life. We are going for WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES! (WWW!), one of the most exciting exhibitions that we have curated to date.
WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES! (WWW!) is a group exhibition curated by Sofia Garcia of ARTXCODE and ourselves, celebrating the website as an artistic medium and marking the 30th anniversary of Rhizome, the pioneering institution for born-digital art and culture.
From the playful interventions of 1990s net.art pioneers to the poetic web experiments of artists navigating today’s algorithmically saturated internet, WWW! honours the website as an enduring site of experimentation, identity, and autonomy. Presented as live websites installed physically across the gallery, this exhibition bridges generations of artists to show how the website remains a radical artistic space: one that belongs to no platform and answers to no algorithm.
This exhibition has been a year in the making, and we are beyond excited to finally see it come to fruition. We have been working with twenty (!) artists who are active in the net.art scene, from OGs who published their first art websites in the late 90s, to emerging artists that represent a new wave of contemporary webmaking, with all the challenges and opportunities that arise in the age of AI.
In addition to the physical presentation, the exhibition will also, of course, exist online. During the process, the online presentation of the exhibition was just as important to us as the physical display, as we wanted to honour these artworks in their native environments.
We will likely write a longer post about the curatorial process once the craze of the preparations have subsided, but for now, if you are in New York, we would love to see you there! The physical exhibition will run from the 21st-27th September 2026 at 39 Great Jones Street. For those of you who aren't able to make it, the online exhibition is open always, and we'd love to hear your thoughts on it. :)
See you online (and hopefully IRL!!),
V & B
